The Colts Men’s basketball team will be playing their first game of the season next Tuesday on November 21st at home against Southern Lee.

The Colts are coming back after a 15-10 record last season. They made the playoffs but unfortunately came up short in the first round. The Colts are losing 5 players, 3 of them being key starters.

The two returning starters are Arrington Kee (Jr.) and Mekhai Coleman (Sr) who will both be key assets to the team this year. Another important returner is Connor Moore who led the team in 3 pointers last year.

Junior Damien Gary is also an important returner coming back this season from an ACL injury. Ricardo McDonald is also returning and will play an important role for the team this season.

“We’re gonna take more pride in defense this year, especially since we have so many athletes that can guard the ball,” said Junior guard Arrington Kee.

Senior guard Tim Tucker is an important new addition to the team who transferred from Freedom Christian Academy.

“Our goal is always to have a winning season,be a top 3 team in the conference, and make it in the postseason. This year is unique as we have two really good players not returning and we’ve had seven players playing football so we’re about 4 months behind so we have to rush team chemistry and make up for lost time” said Head Coach Alphonzaa Kee.

Their first game is Tuesday at home versus Southern Lee. Come out and support your Cape Fear Colts.
