Colts for Christ is a continuously growing organization that is led by students and allows them to incorporate Christ into their daily lives.

Although this organization is student led, Coach Jarrod Britt plays a big role behind the scenes. Students meet every Tuesday and Thursday in room A-10, the art room, at 7:55 AM and 3:45 PM.

The goal of Colts for Christ is to help bring as many students to Christ as possible and help them grow in their walks with God. This club provides an easy way for students to invite their friends to hear and discuss a short devotional. They provide a safe space for students to gather and spread the gospel.

A devotional is a short lesson and discussion on a simple topic related to the Bible that students can take with them in their daily lives, and their athletic careers.

“One of this week’s devotions was about patience and about how it fits in our daily lives, but also aids in our athletic careers,” said member Brandon Simpson. “We need to have patience in our everyday lives and encounters with other people, but also on the field as we all grow and strive to be better.”

You can find this club on their Instagram account @colts_4christ. If you visit their page you can quickly become updated about the club, learn how to become involved, and catch a glimpse of what the students do behind the scenes.

“Not one person is talking over anyone else; everybody is talking and involved together. Colts for Christ gives students a chance to talk about Christ in a safe environment,” said Simpson. “We get to lead the sessions ourselves and they are open to anybody.”

Coach Britt feels very strongly about Colts for Christ. He is the reason it came to Cape Fear.

“Well it’s important for the student body because it gives people an outlet to talk about their faith if they want to. They get to dive into scripture if they feel like it is something they feel is valuable. We really are a loving group and we’re here for anybody who wants to become a part of it,” said Britt.

According to Britt, the ultimate goal is to give students a place to grow their relationship with Christ. The club also wants to be a part of a few projects that would be helpful to the school. and give students a few opportunities to be able to go to camps and fellowship with other students. “We are kind of growing in that right now, it is a bit of a process, but ultimately our goal is to get people in a place together to build their relationship with Christ,” said Britt

Colts for Christ is an open organization that students should consider attending. It’s an opportunity to grow your faith with your classmates in a safe environment. This can also be a fun and easy way to start building your relationship with Christ. If you’re not busy on Tuesdays and Thursdays, swing on by and check out Colts for Christ.
