The Lady Colts Varsity Lacrosse team is winding up for a brand new season. They are starting the new season off with new coaches who are ready to take on the challenge. The Colts will be led this year by head coach Ross Martin and his wife, Amy Martin, who will be assisting him. Martin last coached Cape Fear Girls Varsity Lacrosse 3 years ago, and he is back to try to give the girls their first winning season.
Last year the Lady Colts had a rough season with a record of 0-8, but with a new coach like Martin, and a dozen new players, the Lady Colts are eagerly looking forward to this new season.

“I am very excited for this season, seeing all the new girls show out this season has made me very hopeful for this season. My parents, Amy Martin and Ross Martin are my biggest inspiration for motivation. This season we need to communicate, and offense and defense need to work and move together throughout the season,” said Martin.
Coaches outlook on the season:
“So far, I’ve enjoyed seeing the girls have fun while playing a sport they love. We are going to be working on ground balls, ball movement through quick passes, and unselfish play throughout the season,” said Head Coach Ross Martin. “The most promising thing this season will be the girl’s skill set improving and family and friends will be able to see the girls’ improvement during the game. Tryouts for the lacrosse team are February 14th, 6:00-8:00 P.M. Anyone is welcome and we would love to have you on our team.”
