Most girls wish to have a safe space to connect with other girls, a place where they can get in touch with their femininity and share common interests.

The Ladies of Divine Excellence is just that space and just that place. This is a Cape Fear sponsored club where girls get together and discuss their experiences about being a woman and how they can realize their true potential, excellence, success and support each other.

The clubs first meeting will be held on February 7th, and will be led by teacher Ms. Mary Persaud and Assistant Principal Ms. Alicia Copeland.

“I want everyone in this organization to be so self confident in who they are and how God created them,” said Ms. Persaud.

Ladies of Divine Excellence encourages everyone to pursue higher education and its focus is on self-advocacy and confidence. It also teaches girls about realizing their greatest potential. This club is open to different issues and brings awareness. Talking about what their peers experience gives everyone a space where they can get advice, discuss different topics, and establish their own new unique identity.

“I think one of the biggest things now with our society and youth is social media. You don’t have to be a lighter complexion to be beautiful or be a size three to be pretty,” said Mrs. Persaud.

Young women of today need a space where they can be themselves, especially in a world where it’s becoming harder to be anything.The Ladies of Divine Excellence is where you can overcome and go beyond to achieve excellence.

The Ladies of Divine Excellence focuses on accessing each member’s individual strengths, what they need to work on to be better, to achieve higher success, and emerge from different ethnicities and backgrounds to make a sisterly bond.

The Ladies of Divine Excellence’s mission statement is as follows:
“Our mission is to uphold ourselves to a standard of excellence through continuous growth.”
