The baseball team knocked another successful week out of the park, securing the victory in 2 important wins, as they seek another dominate playoff run. Firstly the Colts took on the Triton High School Hawks with a score of 13-3. The team then took on Douglas Byrd at home Tuesday completely dominating with a 20-0.
Freshman Landon Underwood kept up the heat, going 3 for 4 at the plate. Underwood also went 3 for 3 in the outfield, not letting a single ball get past him.
Senior Catcher Lucca Pascarella has made a gradual comeback after his injury, which had him out for 3 weeks. Pascarella took back his position behind home plate.
“It feels great to be back in the swing of things; I can’t rush the healing process, so I’m taking each game one at a time,” said Pascarella.
Mason Hughes continues to be the team’s biggest contributor. Hughes went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles against the Hawks.
“I plan on keeping my energy steady and focus on what I need to do each game to secure the victory,” said Hughes.
Junior Jackson Rainey executed a stellar performance on the mound. Rainey went for 3 no hit innings and only 1 walk.
“I’m continuing to work on my batting but my pitching is gaining more velocity as I’m getting more pitching time during games,” said Rainey.
The team has been playing very solid defensively despite having encountered some injuries over the last few games.
The Colts take on Jack Britt Friday in hopes of securing a vital conference win against the Pirates. Good luck boys!!
