Colts Soccer had a busy week with 3 conference games in a row. The week started out strong, but ended in an unfortunate loss for our colts. Although it didn’t end in the way our colts had hoped, they aren’t gonna let it get them down for the rest of the season. They are only going to come back better and stronger.

On Monday the Colts took on Grays Creek in a conference matchup. The Colts took down the Bears in a 4-1 win. You could say it was a CF bear hunt, with the victorious win for the colts. The winning goals were scored from Aiden Chestnutt, Gage Mosely, Zach Beal, and Jacob Fisher. This was a great game for our colts.

On Tuesday the Colts had a huge conference match against Jack Britt. It was a defensive battle in the first half but the boys managed to put one in the back of the net for a 1-0 win to bring the win streak to 10 in a thriller. This win for the Colts against the Buccaneers, is adding to the hype for our homecoming game. Our boys made them walk the plank, and we are excited to do it again in the future.

We asked dedicated outside back Zach Beal about his thoughts on the team this year and he said, “Our defense is one of our strengths and that makes it a lot easier on our offense to go and score goals knowing that we’re gonna hold it down against anybody we’re up against.”

For the third day in a row the boys once again had a home game against Lumberton. They started off the match strong with a score in the first 10 minutes from Striker, Francisco Rodriguez. Lumberton answered late in the first half to bring the score to 1-1 going into halftime. After halftime is when the game took an unexpected turn for our colts, with an unfortunate second half score from the Pirates ended in a 2-1 loss for our colts.

“I mean honestly man 3 games, 3 days, tired legs man, and they had two good chances, they finished on both. We didn’t finish on opportunities,” said Coach Pagan following the game against Lumberton.

The team is still in good spirits, knowing they had a hard and busy week with 3 games in a row. That the loss for them isn’t a testament to the team, they did everything they could, and took every opportunity presented to them.

Though the Colts historic win streak ended, they are still tied first in conference. They are confident in winning the conference, and this confidence is essential to come back after this loss.
