The Lady Colts took to the course for their last match of the season on Saturday, October 18th. The match took place at Chicora Golf Club for the 3A East regional tournament. 

The Colts shot a 307 as a team. This was one of the team’s best scores on the season, and it allowed the ladies to place 10th out of 13 teams. 

The top scorers for the Colts were Abbey Bullard with a 100, Saylor Drose with a 103 and Emily Harris with a 104. 

The other scorers for the Colts were Abby McKenzie and Caroline Hales who both scored a 109. 

This match was unlike any other the Colts had experienced before. Chicora was definitely a hard course, one that the Colts have never played on before. Despite this adversity, the Colts gave it their all and were able to finish strong for the last match of the season.

“This golf season has been a journey of hard work, dedication, and remarkable achievements that each of us will cherish for a long time. Our hard work paid off, and our results speak for themselves. I am very grateful for this amazing team and the experience I’ve gained from this season. I started off this season a little rocky but it ended with laughter and tears. With me being a senior this year made it hard to leave the team. I’m going to miss every single one of these girls and I will cherish every single memory I’ve made along the way,” said Abby McKenzie. 

“I really enjoyed this season and the improvement me and all my teammates made from the beginning to the end. It’s bittersweet to see my last season end but I am excited to see how well the team will do next year,” said Caroline Hales.

As the end of the season is here for the Lady Colts, it is time to say goodbye to a remarkable class of seniors. Abbey, Caroline, Clara, and Abby shined throughout their last season as Colts, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. We wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. The seniors are leaving some big shoes to fill, but there is little doubt that our younger Colts will do just that.
