CFNN Reporters Lily Jordan, Addison Davis, and Madelyn Nichols are here to keep you updated.

As Thanksgiving break is approaching, Cape Fears’ clubs have a lot going on.

Starting off, CF DECA has been working hard. A couple of weekends ago a few officers had the opportunity to attend the DECA Power Trip, which was held in Charlotte, NC. They had a lot of fun attending workshops and learning about how to be better officers, DECA members, and people all around. They even got the chance to visit a NASCAR museum.

DECA also was testing last week preparing for their regional competition which was held last Friday, November 22nd, at St. Andrews college in Laurinburg NC. Our competitors have been working hard the past couple weeks practicing vocabulary, roleplay skills, and much more.

“Our competition practices have helped tremendously,” said member Ben Martinez.  All competitors represented Cape Fear very well.

The following members were recognized, Principles of Entrepreneurship: 1st place- Lillian Dudley, tied for 3rd place- Serenity Gunn-Jenkins and Scarlet Tetlow and 4th place- Isabella Alvarez. Retail Merchandising: tied for 1st place- Lily Jordan and Amber Skipper, 2nd place- Ashton Horne. We also had many students place in the top 10 for roleplays and exam scores. We are so proud of everyone who competed.

Lastly, DECA state competition is quickly approaching, any DECA members interested in competing at the state level must pay their $90 competition fee to Mrs. Cox by December 6th. Follow CFHS DECA social media to stay up to date.

Also, Colts for Christ will be holding their usual meetings this Tuesday, November 26th, at 7:45 am. Due to Thanksgiving break, there will be no meeting this Thursday.
