The Bowling Colts are on a roll with a great winning streak.
The Cape Fear High School Bowling team rolled into another victory Wednesday night, knocking over Westover with a dominant performance.
This is the team’s fourth consecutive win and sixth win total; they’re on a strike this season with a 180 average and only one loss.
In further detail, a bowling match is made up of six games, where five players get two frames each, per game. The team scores points depending on each pin knocked down and each game won out of the six. This time the Colts won four of the six, giving them an overall win for the match.
Players can only sub in for their teammates at the beginning of a game, and they will have to play that position for the rest of that game. Several teams are played during a match, which also make up part of the team’s average, but the match is centered around the main opponent, this time being Westover.
One of the team’s main starters, Connor Didway being out due to sickness, put the team at a disadvantage, especially when Westover kept scoring unbelievable strikes against us, but the team stayed strong and prevailed.
Garrett Snyder came in clutch with nine strikes, two spares, and only one open.
“When someone isn’t performing like they should, don’t let it bring you down. Just keep the confidence and mindset to win, and just help to lift the team as well,” said Synder.
Navaha Hargrove put up a good score as well, placing two spares and a strike.
“If you don’t think you’re good at striking it. Spare your focus for the next turn,” said Hargrove.
The Colt’s next match is next Wednesday at Lafayette Lanes.
