The Colts Wrestling squad hosted the Jack Britt Buccaneers on 1/29 for the Colts Senior Night, where they honored Seniors Holden George and Trenton Westbrook for their impact on the Colts wrestling program.
George has been a member of the Colts Wrestling team since his freshman year. One of his biggest supporters throughout his entire time at Cape Fear has been his mother.
“It was winning the Crusader Duals last season. The reason being because we were such a close team and everyone was doing great that day which made the tournament really fun” said George when reflecting on his favorite memories as a Colt throughout his 4 year journey.
After graduation, George plans to go to ECU and major in nursing.
The next senior who has made a lasting impression on the Colts Wrestling squad is Trenton Westbrook. He has wrestled for the Colts the past 3 years and also is a part of the Lacrosse Team.
“It felt good to get the win after being in a slump the first half of the season, so it felt good to start finally winning again, and especially on senior night,” said Westbrook when asked about his big win on senior night.
After high school, Westbrook plans to play Lacrosse at Cokor University in South Carolina where he will study to become a physical therapist
As his High School wrestling career comes to an end, Westbrook reflected on one of his favorite memories throughout his career. He said that his favorite memory was from his Junior year when they won a dual tournament in Raleigh.
George and Westbrook have made their mark on the Colts Wrestling Squad. The Colt family cannot wait to continue cheering on these two seniors for the remainder of their final seasons.
