Our very first Exceptional Student of the Week is Jayden Massey! Jayden is a Senior at Cape Fear and he grew up in Wade.

Jayden is a huge fan of sports, and his favorite sport to watch is football. He’s a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers. Don’t let this Carolina fan fool you, his favorite color is green! His favorite sport to play though, is basketball, and his favorite NBA team is the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jayden loves his classmates, and when asked about the best part of the classroom, he said it was being with his friends, and his teachers Mrs Hairr and Mrs Quinton. He also loves music, and said that his favorite subject at Cape Fear is band, and he gets to attend band twice a week. 

“I worked with Jayden for two years at Mac Williams and tell him that I loved him so much I followed to the high school,” said Mrs Hairr on her experience as Jayden’s teacher in middle school as well as high school.

“Jayden is an awesome kid, he loves to chat with us. I knew Jayden when I worked at Mac Williams too. He is known for zooming around the halls of Cape Fear and flirting with all the SGA girls,” said Mrs. Quinton when asked about what it’s like to be around Jayden.

As highlighted previously, Jayden loves music. Some of his favorite hobbies include listening to gospel music, playing on the drums and keyboard. Jayden also enjoys making youtube videos, and playing Buddy Basketball at school.

When asked about his best memories from being at Cape Fear, Jayden had so many great memories to share! He loved laughing and joking with Mr. Shamblin, who unfortunately passed away in 2023. He would even call Mr. Shamblin his Dawg because they were so close! Another one of his favorite memories is going on a field trip to the aquarium with all of his friends.
