As the season is warming up, so are Cape Fear High School’s fields! Spring Sports tryouts are here! Now is the time where we try to find new teammates to join our hardworking Colts! 

Students ranging from freshman all the way to senior, are going to take on the privilege of having the opportunity to try out for a CFHS sports team. This year, the spring sports students will be trying out for include:

  • Baseball 
  • Girls’ Soccer 
  • Softball 
  • Mens’ Tennis 
  • Outdoor Track
  • Lacrosse 

All Spring Tryouts will take place between February 12th – February 14th, with the exception of Girls soccer, which will begin Friday the 14th through Monday the 17th. Girls JV Soccer will be Wednesday the 19th and Thursday the 20th.

General Eligibility 

Here is the information to make sure your Colt is on track for their upcoming season. 

  • Be in all class periods 85% of the time (have missed 48 class periods or less) 
  • Pass with a 70 percent or higher in the past class semester or have a weighted 2.0 GPA 
  • Have a physical form has to be completed on a final form 
  • Have current medical exam done by a medical professional 
  • Have the correct equipment for said sport

Physical forms for the 24-25 school year can be found on Cape Fear High School’s website underneath the “Athletics” page. Students can contact each coach through “Coach Directory” on Cape Fear High School’s website if they have any questions or concerns about try-outs.
