Cape Fear is adding new royalty to its court on February 22nd. The Mr. Cape Fear pageant is making its comeback, Back in Black, for the first time in years.

Mr. Cape Fear includes five phases of competition. An opening number to the infamous ACDC song “Back in Black,” followed by the introduction of contestants in a costume of their choice, their special talent, a walk down the catwalk in their Sunday best to a walkout song of their choice, and culminating in a contestant interview. This is an outstanding tradition, and many have been awaiting its return. SGA is bringing all the fun to make this an enjoyable experience for all in attendance. The pageant is organized and will be put on by Cape Fear’s Student Government Association and SGA advisor, Amy Fennell. These groups have worked tirelessly to do right by this long awaited event.

Only the best of the best are vying for the title. The nine contestants competing for Mr. Cape Fear are:

  1.  Sean Sullivan
  2. Eli Magness
  3. Connor Bible
  4.  Mekhi Papillon
  5. Nicholas Serbio
  6. Jakob Evenson
  7. Gavin Gamble
  8.  Mason Hancock
  9.  A’Darius Hams

Nicholas Serbio contestant #5 exclaimed about how he feels about the upcoming pageant, “I am very excited about the M.r CF pageant and look forward to having fun with my friends and just really looking forward to making people laugh.”

Contestant #7, Gavin Gamble, shared how he felt about the upcoming pageant as well,  “I feel great about the pageant and being able to be a part of it. I’m excited for everyone to showcase their talents and to be able to see what they do, and also to see how many people attend the Mr. Cf pageant. Hopefully I gain some new exposure to new people in the crowd.”

Whoever wins Mr. Cape Fear will reign alongside Miss Cape Fear to not only represent their school, but be an active member in the community as well. We hope whoever wins will take the position as more than a title, with a heart to serve like many other Mr titles throughout the county.

The mister of ceremonies for the event is former Cape Fear High School principal, Lee Sprull. The pageant will also have special entertainment performances from Cape Fear teachers: Ms. Vasquez, Mr. Churchill, and Ms. Raynor.

Mr. Cape Fear will be a night you don’t want to miss. Come support all nine contestants and get a good laugh from the show our SGA advisor has put together. We wish all the contestants best of luck and can’t wait to see who will establish the comeback as Mr. Cape Fear!
