With the rabbits hopping this spring, DECA is hopping to action with their annual Bethesda Easter Basket Drive, helping those in their community and radiating hope around Bethesda Nursing Home in Eastover, NC. You can help as well, sending in items they will need to make gift baskets for each resident!
The drive lasts from March 3rd through March 26th, and takes place in room 226 with Tammy Cox, sponsor of DECA. DECA will distribute each item between multiple baskets. Masculine, feminine and, androgynous scents or products are equally appreciated. The class who donates the most items will get an ice cream party at the end of the drive.
List of items are :
- Liquid body wash
- Deodorant sticks
- Magazines
- Pocket packs of tissues
- Hand lotion
- Small throw blankets
- Hair Brushes
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Regular socks (white, black, etc)
- Bags of hard candy
- Cellophane wrap / bags
- Plastic baskets
- Curly Ribbon
DECA members will highly appreciate each item, no matter how small of a donation it is.
After the drive, DECA will pack everything up into individual baskets and go to Bethesda Nursing Home, where they’ll spend the day with the residents of the home, playing games, communicating and engaging. They will play dodgeball, paint the women’s nails, and play bingo, all within 2 hours.
Let’s be proud of our students for showing Fayetteville the Colt pride that we represent throughout our school for being thoughtful, compassionate and helpful.
