It was a big week for the girls soccer team as they delivered three impressive performances, including a major rivalry win and a special Senior Night celebration.

The week kicked off on a high note Tuesday with a commanding 7-0 victory over South View. The match not only showcased the team’s offensive firepower but also served as Senior Night. Emotions ran high as the seniors were honored for their dedication, leadership, and contributions to the program. Their efforts on and off the field have played a major role in the team’s continued success. Goals coming from Ava Luchetta three times, Andi Brinker twice, Grace Sherber once, and Hannah McGill once letting a variety of players see the ball in the back of the net.

Later in the week, they faced Clinton in a hard-fought non-conference match. Despite several scoring opportunities, neither side was able to break through, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

“Celebrating all of us seniors was a night to remember, feeling all the love from our teammates and family. Beating Creek was a highlight, not only winning the conference title but we proved to everyone how well we all work together to get the job done,” said Senior Shea Beiniek when asked about beating rivals and celebrating senior night.

The most anticipated matchup of the week came against long-time rivals, Grays Creek. With the conference title on the line, the team stepped up and secured a clutch 1-0 victory. The defense held strong, with a corner kick from Grace and the finishing header from Hannah, the key goal that made all the difference, earning them not only bragging rights but also their fifth consecutive conference championship.

“Senior Night was unforgettable, beating South View 7-0 and scoring made it even better. It’s not the end yet, but moments like this remind me why I love the game and this team,” said Senior Grace Sherbert when asked about the emotions of Senior Night.

With the postseason approaching, the girls have shown they’re peaking at the right time, combining strong team chemistry with disciplined play. Congratulations to the team and especially the seniors on an unforgettable week and continued dominance in the conference.
