This past week was filled with excitement and success for the volleyball team, marked by two impressive victories. The week began with a home game against the Lumberton Pirates. The team showcased excellent teamwork and skill, securing a decisive win in three straight sets. The scores were 25-9, 25-15, and 25-18, demonstrating the team’s ability to dominate on their home court.

“I think that our communication was very good as well as our ability to communicate and bond on and off the court during the games just displayed that we truly could go really far in conference. The way that we played together from the beginning to the end of the game against Lumberton emphasizes how well we play together,” said starting sophomore rightside Tessa Doll.

Following this victory, the team travelled to face the Purnell Swett Rams on Thursday. The energy and determination remained high, as the team once again swept their opponents in three sets. The scores were 25-15, 26-6, and 25-19, reflecting their consistent performance and ability to perform under pressure on the road.

“Against Purnell we were able to work on plays and run a quicker tempoed offense. To prepare for Grays Creek on Tuesday, it was really beneficial to get reps in against Purnell,” said starting sophomore setter Sophia Wilson.

Looking ahead, the team is gearing up for their next challenge, a highly anticipated rivalry match against the Grays Creek Bears at Grays Creek. The team is focused and ready to bring their best to the court, aiming to continue the winning streak against a tough component.
