On Monday September 22nd, the Girls Golf team travelled to Cypress Lakes Golf Course for their latest match of the season.

All the girls faced long greens and big fairways. Shots can be difficult at Cypress because of the inconsistency in the different holes, but they managed to push their way through.

The team put in a solid performance, finishing with a score of 295, shaving two strokes off their previous match total, and once again securing a second-place finish behind Terry Sanford, who scored a 281.

Sarah Eavenson led the Colts with a score of 92, followed by Holli Bunce with a season-best of 100, Laloni Pyles with a 103 and Saylor Drose with a 104.

“It was a long day yesterday to say the least, I feel like our team is slowly improving, and each match we’re learning more about what we need to work on,” said Eavenson. “Just some of us had a bad day yesterday, but that happens in golf. In general I feel like a lot of things could have been better but I think we will improve as we keep practicing.”

The team’s score was the best of the season, showing steady progress and improvement. They’re building stronger skills and teamwork with every practice.

“I feel like I played well for the most part this season, and I’m proud of the effort I put in. Throughout the year we have played together as a team and as a family. Being a part of this group is rewarding and I’m glad to see the progress being made within each of my teammates,” said Bunce.

The Colts continue to grow with each match, improving their game and learning how to overcome the challenges of the different golf courses.

The Lady Colts will be back on the road next Monday, traveling to Scotch Meadows Country Club.

We’re excited to see how Girls Golf will continue to impress us! Stay tuned to see what they’re capable of!
