Monday, October 13th Cape Fear Girls Golf traveled to Pinecrest where they held their final conference match of the 2025 season.

As this season comes to an end, we’re proud of all the progress made within the team and their hard work. The girls put up a hard fight, but ended with a tough placement.

Cape Fear shot a 292 as their overall team score. The Lady Colts earned 4th place behind Gray’s Creek who scored a 286.

The entire team has truly put in some very hard work over the course of the season, but there have been several key players who scored consistently for the Colts throughout the season. Securing the team’s score of 292 was Freshman Sarah Eavenson with an 82, Freshman Laloni Pyles with a 101, with a 109 was Junior Emily Harris, Senior Nadia Thompson with a 113, and with a 114 was Junior Saylor Drose.

Sarah Eavenson has had a wonderful start to her high school career. She brings a lot of positive energy to the team. Being a Freshman we can’t wait to continue seeing her excel over the years at Cape Fear.

“The match was really close, but we stayed focused and played with a lot of effort. Everyone gave their best and even when it got challenging, we kept pushing through. Looking forward to improving and doing better next season,” said Eavenson.

Next week will begin the first Regionals Match. The girls will be playing at Bentwinds Golf Club in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Our very own Holli Bunce, Saylor Drose, Sarah Eavenson, and Laloni Pyles will be representing Cape Fear. Let’s go Colts!

This is Holli Bunce’s second year on the team and you can already see the improvement! She has worked her way to regionals and we’re excited to see how she will lead her team throughout the next season.

With the season wrapping up, the team has reflected on their growth and had some emotional goodbyes. It’s hard to let go of our seniors, they have been a huge aspect to this team.

The girls are ready to finish strong and bring it back home to Cape Fear!
