After suffering their first loss of the season, Cape Fear responded in dominant fashion with back-to-back commanding performances, defeating St. Paul’s on Thursday before cruising past Terry Sanford on Friday night.

On Thursday, the Colts overwhelmed St. Pauls in a 15–5 victory fueled by strong pitching and an explosive offense.

Ashtyn Westbrook got the start in the circle, striking out six while allowing four hits and two walks. McKinley Kolasa came in for relief and shut things down, not allowing a hit while striking out two and walking three.

At the plate, Westbrook led the way with a perfect 2-for-2 performance, including a double and two runs scored. Peyton Eason also delivered, going 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Cape Fear showed impressive discipline at the plate, striking out just once the entire game. After surrendering two runs in the first inning, the Colts responded immediately with three runs of their own and never looked back. They broke the game open with four runs in the fourth inning and erupted for eight more in the fifth to seal the win.

The momentum carried into Friday night as Cape Fear returned home for a conference matchup against Terry Sanford—and delivered an even more dominant performance.

The Colts wasted no time getting started, using a leadoff bunt to ignite the offense before erupting for 11 runs in the first inning. A steady stream of well-placed singles and aggressive base running overwhelmed Terry Sanford early.

Cape Fear continued to apply pressure, adding two runs in the second inning and two more in the third to extend the lead to 15–0.

Several players turned in standout performances at the plate, as Olivia Ayers, Addison Davis, Peyton Eason, and Kayleigh Brewington each posted perfect hitting nights. The group combined for 11 hits in the game.

In the circle, Kolasa delivered a flawless performance, throwing her first perfect game of the season. She struck out six batters while relying on strong defensive support to complete the effort.

With the two wins, Cape Fear improved to 8–1 on the season and carried strong momentum into a busy week ahead.

The Colts kept rolling into the next week, traveling to Scotland County for a key conference matchup and securing another dominant win, 15–2, over the Fighting Scots.

Kolasa made a major impact on both sides of the game. In the circle, she held Scotland County scoreless in earned runs over five innings. At the plate, she went a perfect 4-for-4, including a home run and a double, driving in two runs while scoring five times.

Olivia Ayers continued her strong stretch, going 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI. Peyton Eason also contributed, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

As a team, Cape Fear tallied 13 hits and applied constant pressure, scoring in every inning and never allowing Scotland County to gain momentum.

Now riding a three-game winning streak, Cape Fear looks ahead to another busy stretch, with a road matchup against St. Paul’s on Wednesday followed by a trip to Lumberton on Thursday to close out the week.
