A Midsummer Night’s dream is coming to Cape Fear, and they might need YOU for a role in it! Auditions are starting this week, and according to the current cast of the play, they are in need of boys to audition for the play.

I went and interviewed Angelo Hale, one of the two boys that are currently auditioning for the play. According to Angelo, a lack of guys is a problem every year. “The last play, 12 Angry Jurors, I was one of four guys out of 13 total cast members,” he said.

In case you were scared or skeptical, Angelo said that this is a great way to meet new people and get out of your comfort zone. As an added bonus, it looks great on college applications.

Last, but not least, in case you were a girl looking to audition, have no worries because the group is still looking for both genders to fill all of the roles. The list of characters has equal male and female parts. “Some don’t require a certain gender, but it’s around 50/50,” Angelo said.

The auditions are this week on Tuesday, February 4th, and Wednesday, February 5th, after school, and the time will depend on how many people show up.

The only prerequisite is that you need to be passing all of your classes, so if you’re interested come to the auditions in Mrs. Raynor’s room in Hut 5 and see what it’s all about!

It might seem Greek to you, but with the play in April, you’ll have forever and a day to get prepped for the play!

We hope to see you!
