On Saturday, March 7th, the Lady Colts battled it out on the track during the 2020 Tiger Relays which featured the “Savage 1600.” It was a competitive start to their 2020 season.
First up was Iris Terwilliger in the Girls 1600 meter run. Terwilliger finished in 5th place with a time of 5:56.88, which was .18 seconds away from 4th place. She beat her competitor Psalm Delaney from Pine Forest by over 2 seconds.
Next up in the Freshman 1600 meter run was Alicia Simmons and Lia Tenhundfeld. Simmons finished in 8th place with a time of 6:50.16. Tenhundfeld finished in 20th place with a time of 7:37.95.
In the Girls 300 meter hurdles’ freshman, Honica Brittman finished 19th with a time of 1:18.56.
In one of the more fune events, the Girls 4×100 meter thrower’s relay, Mikayla Fountaine, Alyssa Davis, Vanessa Scott, Jynaisia Harris competed. They finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:03.73.
The Girls 4×200 meter relay featured Cameron Ray, Honica Brittman, Jakic Gary, and Jynaisia Harris. They finished in 12th place with a time of 2:01.36.
The next event was the 800 meter sprint medley relay. Mikayla Fountaine, Vanessa Scott, Jakic Gary, and Iris Terwilliger competed for the Colts. They finished in 4th place with a time of 2:02.32, about 2 seconds away from 3rd place.
Running the 4×400 meter relay were Kearstyn Williams, Vanessa Scot, Lia Tenhunfeld, and Iris Terwilliger. They finished in 9th place with a time of 4:57.13.
In the high jump, Alyssa Davis competed, finishing in 7th place with a height of 4-08.00.
Competing for the Colts in the long jump were Mikayla Fountaine, Alyssa Davis, Honica Brittman, and Tanya Chavez. Fountaine led the Colts, finishing in 23rd place with a distance of 13-08.50. Davis was behind her in 26th place with a distance of 13-07.00. Brittman finished in 33rd place with a distance of 11-05.00. Chavez finished in 38th place with a distance of 8-04.00.
In the triple jump, Jynasia Harris and Mikayla Fountaine competed. Harris finished in 5th place with a distance of 31-11.70. Fountaine finished in 10th place with a distance of 28-06.00.
Brea Cordell and Hailey Floyd threw the discus for the Colts. Cordell finished in 16th place with a throwing distance of 67-03.00. Floyd finished in 28th place at 55-04.00.
Justice Kennon, Ella Brittan, and Ebony Garnett-Hollingsworth competed in the shot put. Kennon finished in 16th place with a distance of 24-07.50. Brittan finished in 23rd place recording a distance of 22-02.00. Garnett-Hollingworth finished in 42nd place with at 14-11.00.
