On Tuesday, September 7th, the Lady Colts Tennis Team took care of what is becoming business as usual, dominating the court with a 7-2 win against the Jack Britt Buccaneers.  The Lady Colts are now on a winning streak this season, standing at 4-0. 

Brooke Bieniek began the day on the first court. She took a 6-3,6-1 win for singles and managed to keep her record unblemished, an undefeated 4-0 record this season. Brooke has been perfecting her serves and strokes since her appearance at the state championships last season.

On court two, Anna Piland came away with an impressive 6-0,6-0 win. “I feel that I played very well in the match,” Piland said. “Especially since I was up against a more challenging player. But I was able to keep my game up and come out on top.” 

Shae Bieniek eked out a nail-biting 7-6,7-6 win on court three. Andi Brinker followed in kind with a 6-3,6-3 win on court five. In the final singles match, Brianna Keen won convincingly 6-0,6-0 on court six.

In doubles, Brooke Bieniek and Anna Piland looked impressive in an 8-0 win on court one. “During the doubles, I felt we had the energy of a state championship team and complemented each other very well,” says Anna. On court two, Shae Bieniek and Madisyn Hall came up just short, losing 8-5. Last but not least, on court three Andi Brinker and Brianna Keen came away with an 8-2 win. 

Once again it was an impressive week for the Colts tennis team. With the premier match of the season coming up in the next few weeks against arch rival Terry Sanford, the Lady Colts are working hard to keep their undefeated record. The Lady Colts are working hard hoping to keep their streak against Greys Creek and Lumberton next week.
