On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, the Lady Colts Tennis team won a big United 8 Conference match 9-0 against the Gray’s Creek Bears. This improves the Colts’ undefeated record to 5-0 on the season. Proving once again that Colt tennis deserves its #1 ranking in the state.
”I felt like the match went well. It was exciting to get to play against Greys Creek again this season.” said junior star Brooke Bieniek. Bieniek won handily on the first court 6-0,6-1.

On court two Anna Piland won 6-0,6-0. “ Im feeling great about our season. Singles is going good. All the doubles teams work really well together. I think we are going to do really well in our post season. I feel like we ( Anna and Brooke) can make it to the finals in regionals. I think we can all go to states because we’ve been training hard and we are a great team.”
Shae Bieniek and Madisyn Hall also won 6-0,6-0 on courts three and four. Andi Brinker kept the Colts hot with a 6-3,6-0 win on court five. Finally for singles, Brianna Keen rounded out the afternoon with a 6-0,6-1 win on court six.
In doubles, Brooke Bieniek and Anna Piland put their stamp on a convincing 8-0 win on court one. On court two, Shae Bieniek and Hall also took care of business with an 8-0 win. Last but not least on court three Andi Brinker and Brianna Keen nailed things down with an 8-1 win. This win kept the winning streak alive for the Colts as we near the midway point of the 2021 season.
Their next match was held on Thursday, September 16 when the Colts took on Lumberton in a tough away match.
In singles, Brooke Bieniek stayed unbeaten with a 6-2,6-1 win on the first court. “ Tonight was one of my toughest matches so far in the season. She was very consistent and it was good practice for the harder teams we are going to play in the post season matches.”
On court two Anna Piland’s 6-0,6-0 win kept the Colts ahead. Shae Bieniek took a 6-0,6-0 win on court three and Madisyn Hall won 6-2,6-2 on the fourth court. Andi Brinker eked out a 4-6,6-2 win on court five just as the sun set. Finally for singles, Brianna Keen won convincingly 6-0,6-0 on court six.
In doubles, Brooke Bieniek and Anna Piland blanked the Pirates with a 8-0 win on court one. On court two, Shae Bieniek and Hall took a 8-1 win. Last but not least, on court three Andi Brinker and Brianna Keen also dominated with an 8-1 win. This week was another successful week for our Lady Colts. Next week the Colts go against Purnell Swett and 71st.
