On Friday, October 8, the Colts hosted the Eagles from Douglas Byrd at home. The Colts dominated, winning 62-6. After back to back losses, the Colts needed to get back in the win column.

The Colts defense is known for being top tier. They proved this again Friday night by only allowing one touchdown. The defense chipped in on the scoreboard, putting up two touchdowns and recovering a fumble on a kickoff for a touchdown. The Colts defense limited Douglas Byrd to -31 yards rushing and 21 yards passing.
¨The guys did what we asked them to do. We jumped on them early and scored in all three phases. Still a lot of errors we have to correct, and a lot of room for improvement moving forward.¨ said the Colts head coach, Jacob Thomas.
Junior quarterback Cole Wilson, had 11 completions and threw for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jeremiah Melvin, RJ McDonald, and Keyshon Washington were the top receivers. Melvin had 2 big touchdown grabs, and Keyshon Washington also had a touchdown.

The offense was solid through the air on Friday night. The Colts stretched the lead to more than 40 points early in the 3rd quarter and never looked back. A lead of 42+ in high school results in a running clock for the remainder of the contest. This was a welcome sight for the Colts.
Jeremiah Melvin was awarded player of the game. Melvin’s 2 touchdown catches for 104 yards were tops for Colt wide receivers on the night.
¨It felt good to see the work being put in with the help of my teammates and be able to see the reward¨ said Melvin. To prepare for this week’s game against Jack Britt Melvin said ¨This week in practice we plan to have a great week so come Friday we will be ready¨.
The Colts take on the Jack Britt Buccaneers this Friday. Be sure to be there to see another week of the Colts comeback.
