The Cape Fear Men’s Basketball team travels to Pikeville tonight to take on the Golden Falcons of C.B. Aycock High School, a strong team with a strong record. The Falcons have proven that they can dominate their conference and teams in their area. They finished third in 3A Conference 21 with an 11-3 conference record and a 20-3 overall record.

Aycock is led by guard Kamran Prince. The sophomore leads the team in Points and assists per game. He is averaging 15 points per game as well as 2.3 assists per game.

The Falcons average 64.2 points per game, while they allow 52.6 points per contest.

Colts leading scorer Masuan Bryant is averaging 16.5 points per game. He also leads the Colts with assists per game at 4.8. Justin Burden and RJ McDonald each chip in 12.4 points per game, while Sophomore Forward Jeremiah Melvin hauls in 7.8 rebounds per game on the boards.

Cape Fear finished tied for second place in the United 8 Conference with a record of 11-3. The Colts overall record is 15-8.

The Colts are scoring 65.6 points per game and allowing 56.4 defensively.

This looks to be a solid matchup for the Colts, who are coming off a late regular season surge to move into a tie for second place in the conference.

Cape Fear will be looking to come out with strong, physical play to take down the Falcons, who could prove to potentially be some very tough competition. The Colts will need to be on point with their traditionally stingy defense and outhustle Aycock in transition.

Come out and support your Cape Fear boys Basketball team as they travel to C.B. Aycock for the first round of the state playoffs!
