Mason shows his spirit

This morning Cape Fear News Network had the privilege of interviewing Mason Cummings, Cape Fear’s current student of the week. Mason is a sophomore here at Cape Fear High. He is currently taking Biology honors, Visual Art, Foods I, and American History. His favorite class of the day is his first period Biology class with Ms. Lee.

In his free time, you can find Mason on the court playing basketball. He plays recreational basketball for his team, “I am elite.” He has practice throughout the week and has games every Saturday. Mason started playing basketball when he was in the fifth grade and has continued ever since. He has never played school ball before but plans on trying out for Cape Fear’s basketball team next year. Cummings’ favorite basketball team is the Memphis Grizzlies, and his favorite player is Ja Morant.

When he’s not at school or on the court, you can find Mason playing video games or hanging out with his friends. Mason enjoys listening to music and his favorite artist is NBA YoungBoy. His favorite color is blue and his favorite food is chicken wings. He enjoys the Jurassic Park film series; his favorite is the very first one.

After graduating from high school, Mason plans on attending a four year university somewhere in Georgia, preferably Atlanta. He is unsure of what he wants to study in college, but he wants to be successful in whatever he pursues. Cape Fear cannot wait to see what Mason’s future holds, and that’s a wrap on this week’s Student of the Week, Mason Cummings!
