On Monday October 3rd, the Cape Fear Colts faced off against South View as their last home match for the 2022 season. The Cols took home a huge win by a score of 9-0. The Colts now stand at 12-1 overall and undefeated in conference play. They are currently ranked #1 in 3A Girls Tennis.

The Ladies had a big night not only was it the last home match but it was senior night for Brooke Bieniek. This night was a very emotional night for her. Her time at Cape Fear is coming to end  and so is her time as a High SchoolTennis player. Brooke Has won 101 Matches in her high school career and is also the most decorated tennis player in history for Cape Fear. Every year that Brooke has been on the team, they made it to conference.

“I feel actually excited and looking forward to the rest of the season. I was a little sad at times during my senior night but I can’t wait for the playoffs to start and make another run in doubles.” explained Bieniek.

The cool thing about Bieniek is she was able to play doubles with her sister, Shea Bieniek. Shea is Brooks’ little sister, which isn’t always noticed since Shea is taller. The Bieniek’s had a great win with a score of 8-0. The duo is often called “The bickering Bieniek’s” but through it all they still get the job done on the court.

“I loved playing with my sister since I don’t really ever get a chance to. We played really well together and we didn’t argue at all, so I would say it was a success.” said Brooke.

Come out to Gray’s Creek on Wednesday to see the Colts play their last match before the playoffs. You won’t want to miss out on this amazing match between the Colts and the Bears.
