During the month of November Cape Fear’s Student Government Association is taking on another service project to get students involved. They are taking donations for the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill during all fourth period classes. A competition between each class is also being held and there is a prize for the top three classes that bring in the most items.

The Ronald McDonald House is a place where families who have a child in the hospital can stay and feel at home while facing such a hard time. While there they are provided with home cooked meals and a comforting place to stay.

SGA is collecting items that are commonly used by those who stay at the Ronald McDonald house to ensure they have a great stay. Some examples of items needed are individually wrapped food items, plastic utensils, Clorox/Lysol wipes, and paper plates.

All around the school there are posters with a list of all the items you can bring in and a QR code you can scan that will take you to an Amazon wishlist where you can order items to be sent to the Ronald McDonald House. The fourth period class that brings in the most items will receive pizza and cupcakes, second place gets cupcakes, and third place gets cookies.

Being able to get students involved with giving to others is a huge goal of the Cape Fear SGA. Helping others is something that everyone is capable of doing and should try their best to do. Cape Fear SGA wants to give students the opportunity to be able to help others and give back to the community.
