Playoffs Last Year

The team finished off their season in the  Eastern Regional Finals in the fifth round of playoffs last May. The Colts came up one win shy of the state championship, dropping a three game series to eventual State Champion Eastern Alamance.

Head Coach Jeff McPhail and his team hope to take the final step back to the State Championship this season.

Returning Starters

There are only three returning seniors this season; that small group consists of star players Kailee Meredith, Noni MacFadden, and Lex Glemaker. Juniors consist of Sabria Hanson, Gracey Horne, Grace Bailey, and Alex Serbio. Along with Sophomores Allie Dawson, Avery Jones, and Kalilah Dela Cruz. This promising pool of players brings hopes of an extremely successful season!

 Players to watch

A star to watch for this season is Noni MacFadden who had the most hits, the most doubles earned, the most runs batted in, and the highest fielding percentage. Pitcher Lex Glemaker struck out a total of 204 batters last season earning her the title of striking out the most batters. She also has the highest earned run average. Kailee Meredith had the most triples. Returning starter Alex Serbio earned the most runs last season and she also had the most stolen bases. All of these players are extremely promising assets to the Colts this season and stars to look out for.

“We have very strong team chemistry. We had a great season last year, so I know that we will make it very far this year. It’s important that we back each other up and be there for one another,” said Alex Serbio.

Promising newcomers

Freshman Kayleigh Brewington and Karalina Tomasic are the two newest players on the team. With Karalina pitching and Kayleigh catching her strikes, these two have bright futures ahead of them!

“My favorite part of being on the team is the friendships I’ve made. It’s important that we all work together,” said Kayleigh Brewington.

What does the team need to have for success?

“It’s going to take dedication and commitment throughout every practice and game. That’s what will lead us to success. We have worked hard this off season and we are excited to continue that momentum into the next season. Our players are officially, ALL IN!!!,” said Coach McPhail.
