The Colts had a nice showing in their 5-4 win Tuesday against the Scotland Scots. This win moves them to 13-6 on the season and 7-2 in Conference play and just 1 game away from first in the Conference.

The Colts had some pretty impressive games from some of their underclassmen with Eason Turner giving up only 7 hits through over 6 innings.

Jayden Brewington also had a great game for Cape Fear going 2-3 and leading the team with 2 RBI’s Tuesday night.

The Colts even had their own Dynamic Duo with Brycen Tally and Landon Underwood, who were unstoppable at the plate last night.

Tally had an RBI, 2 Runs and went 2-4 at the plate, but most importantly he hit his 2nd HOME RUN of the year which ended up giving the Colts the lead they needed to win the game.

“Being in a full 3-2 count, I was really just looking to stay composed and get a hit but he threw me a fastball that I was able to get under and that was it,”said Tally.

Underwood hit everything that came his way against Scotland, going 3-4 at the plate and getting an extra base on his double, which led to him bringing in a run for the Colts.

“Ive been able to stay way more confident for my at bats and have gotten better at not giving up on an at bat even if im down in count or having a bad game,” said Underwood.

Underwood and Tally were really able to feed off of each other’s energy and just wanted to add on to the incredible games the other was having to help their team win.

The Colts will play against Scotland again Friday in Scot territory but if the Colts are able to carry their momentum into that game and have some more big outings like we saw last night a win Friday could push the Colts to first in the Conference pushing them closer to the title Conference Champs.
