During the three last non-conference matches that took place between August 24th and September 1st, the volleyball team faced a challenging schedule with two away games, and one home game resulting in a mixed outcome of two victories and one loss. 

On Monday, August 24th the team faced a tough match against the Cleveland High School Rams, falling in three straight sets. The set scores were 20-25, 17-25, and 17-25. Despite the loss, the team showed strong effort and determination throughout the match. Their communication and teamwork were key as they continued to compete and work together from start to finish.

“I think with the game at Cleveland Highschool we could have just done a little better on attacking the ball smartly, placing the ball well, and getting the other team out of system. Along with communicating better and trusting each other,” said Junior Libero Sadie Adams. 

On Wednesday August 26th, the team delivered a strong performance at home against the Pine Forest Trojans, securing a decisive win in four sets. The set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, and 25-13. The team’s strong communication, teamwork, and determination helped them maintain control throughout the match and earn the victory in front of their home crowd.

On Tuesday September 1st, the team traveled to face the South View Tigers and earned a strong victory in three straight sets. The team played with confidence and consistency, doing a great job serving aggressively, communicating on the court, and keeping rallies under control. The set scores were 25-13, 25-11, and 25-13.Strong passing and well-placed sets helped create opportunities for the hitters to attack, while the team’s defense and quick reactions kept South View from gaining momentum. The team stayed focused throughout all three sets and continued to execute at a high level, allowing them to finish the match with a convincing road win.

The Colts are ready to hit the court again, and to prove that hard work pays off while coming back stronger. They will face the Lumberton Pirates next Tuesday at Lumberton High School and the Purnell Swett Rams next Thursday at home. These are the first two conference matches of the season and the Colts will need to capitalize on them and end the week with two aggressive wins, to claim their names as the best of the 910.
