There are many people who help our school function to its fullest capability, but never receive their recognition. Most of those people don’t expect any recognition, they simply enjoy helping young people become the best version of themselves.
SMOW (Staff Member Of the Week) is a biweekly award for a chosen staff member who has helped this school immensely and deserves to be in the spotlight. This week’s SMOW is Jean Bullard.
Mrs. Bullard is well known for being in the front office, being kind to kids no matter the issue, and helping the school in any way she can. We could not think of a more deserving recipient for this week’s Staff Member of the Week award.
Outside of school Mrs. Bullard loves volunteering with the athletic booster club and supporting all athletic programs here at Cape Fear. She and her husband Tim have been active in the Cape Fear booster club since 1999.
The Cape Fear booster club provides for all Cape Fear athletic programs by supplying equipment, uniforms, and helping to raise money through various fundraisers.
She is Dr. Jordan’s administrative assistant, and has worked here since August 2019. She started off as a media clerk and moved to the position she holds now several years ago.
“I love working at Cape Fear high school, the atmosphere, interacting with all the students, and staff.” said Jean Bullard.
Mrs. Bullards long line of Cape Fear graduates in her family is what motivated her to take the position in the Cape Fear office. Mrs.Bullard retired from verizon from working there for 26 years, and began working at cape fear shortly after that.
“The biggest challenge I have to overcome is that there is not enough time in the day to complete all of my tasks,” Said Mrs. Bullard
Mrs. Bullard takes up many responsibilities here at Cape fear including making announcements, giving medication, energy run (making sure the air is on for after school activities), as well as driving a bus if needed, and that is just a couple of things that the lovely Mrs.Bullard does for this school.
“If I could describe Mrs.Bullard in three words I would say kind, dependable, and hardworking.” said Mrs. Courtney Jackson
When it comes to the phrase “Colt pride never stops,” Mrs Bullard is the true definition of what Colt Pride means to Cape Fear. Congratulations Mrs Bullard, we appreciate you.
“ I think she is great, I think she is the greatest administrative assistant ever, She pretty much runs the school.” Said Dr.Jordan
“ She is a problem solver, she is the extinguisher to the fire of the school ( if there is a problem and she can solve it she will). She is the glue that holds the school together.” Said Dr. Jordan
“ When I first started as a principal she made me feel at home and helped me in any way she could.” Said Dr.Jordan
Thank you Mrs. Bullard for everything you do for the students and staff at this school.
